Support
Although we recognizes there are 'private' caregivers who care for children of family and friends - children of neighbours in their community, we sincerely ask these ladies to consider the many advantages in becoming a self-employed and approved family day home provider associated with an accredited agency.
You will find that being part of our net-work of professional family day home providers will probably make it easier to obtain 'back-up' care, and keep you informed of the best information and best practices of quality child care.
Most of the services now readily available to approved family day home providers, from home consultation, attending child care workshops, conflict resolution, back-up referral list, to collecting fees, etc. is necessarily only available on a fee-for-service basis to non-approved caregivers. Please see our Fees for Services for a detailed breakdown of these services.
If you are caring for children in your home, we invite you to become associated with the A & J Day Home Agency and be part of the caring and dedicated family day home team.
Approved Family Day Home Requirements
The A & J Day Home Agency carefully monitors and gives thorough support to each self-employed provider approved to operate a family day home.
It is important providers understand and practice the child care guidelines of the Region 5 Child & Family Services Authority. You should know that parents are encouraged to ask the agency and you, as their prospective provider, what the child care requirements are. Day Home Manual.
